| Scholarship Fund If you recall, I proposed that Blue Knights International create a scholarship fund for family members of Blue Knights. I was appointed the Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee, and the Committee Members were Ronnie Young (Past Int'l President), Russ Harper (Int'l Treasurer), and Brian Gadd (MWRC Int'l Rep). The proposal called for 5 scholarships ($1000 USD), and for International to provide the funding annually as a way to give back to the membership. Last week the proposal was unanimously approved by the International Board, and the funding was secured via proposal submitted by me last year. Please forward the scholarship application, and guidelines to the membership. I will ask that Shawn add the paperwork to the conference web site. Ride with Pride, D.J. There will be 5 $1000 (USD) scholarships awarded to a child, or grand child of a Blue Knight in Billings, Montana, and will be done annually at convention each year. The deadline to submit is June 1st, and the application, and guide lines can be found on the International web site. Please forward this out to your chapters as soon as possible. | My name is Richard Cashell, I am President of Texas XXXIV. We are a very active and fast growing chapter in East Texas. We hosted last year's RGC here in Tyler. I have decided to run for the soon to be vacated Vice Chairman position. Realizing that these are very large shoes to fill, I have talked at length with Ken Reeves about the position. This is a very exciting opportunity to work for the RGC and help this conference continue to grow. I worked with the leaders of Texas XXII as they were restarting that Chapter in the Lufkin area. I have been working with a potential Chapter in the Midland area as they are starting to form. I introduced the Traveler Pin to the RGC to help raise Conference funds. I would appreciate your support in this upcoming election. |
