| Ride to the Walls Unit David, the Pistoleros are talking about doing a ride to the walls on June 10th for the execution of David Lee Powell. Powell received his death date this week for the Capital Murder of Austin Police Officer Ralph Albanedo in 1978. Many of the Pistolero's were co-workers with Officer Albanedo and would make this ride to support the Albanedo family. We felt it would be a good idea to invite other area LEMC's to join the ride. We are in the early stages of discussion, however, I wanted to give you a heads up to see if any of your members would be interested in making such a ride. Discuss it with your folks and drop me a line if you guys are interested so we can put something together. Tim |
| ROT RALLY UPDATE >>> Robert Rodriguez 4/16/2010 9:25 AM >>> I met with Winter,yesterday, 041510,1230. We discussed the event in detail. We can start setting up on Thursday, 061010,from 0800 hrs.. I told her that involved club members would be setting up at various times that day. We will have two locations where we could set up RV,s with access to electricity,but the RV,s would have to arrive as early as possible due to arriving traffic at Cowboys. A good time would be 0600 hrs. ,Thurs. The spots will be located by the break room,and the second will be in the grass(front -middle of Cowboy Harley ,close to the Cowboy Harley sign). Winter stated that the crowd on Friday would be light after 3pm,due to the motorcyclist participating in the parade that will end up on Congress and the free concert downtown. I think if we sell breakfast tacos Friday morning,we can capitalize from arriving out of town folks. Then sell brisket sandwiches,with chips and a soda on Friday noon till Cowboy closes. Then sell tacos, Sat. morning again,followed by the full plate BBQ brisket plate. On another issue,Winter asked if we could sell plates to the volunteers at a reduced rate. I suggested half price,but will leave that up to the club vote. She is expecting 40 volunteers per day. I will present this Info at the next meeting. I called Brent Sat. morning and gave him all the details that Winter and I discussed. It is nice to know that they are giving us two RV parking slots(Thanks to David Bigley,bike sales).One will be for Ava's Trailer. If you know anyone else who wants to bring an RV,that would make a nice command center for security. But that is your call. RV's will have to be in place early Thurs. morning,before all the commercial traffic,to secure the slot by the break room. May 4, 2010 We need to meet at Cowboy Harley once before the ROT Event and I agree. Let's do this on June 5th at 09:00 at Cowboy Harley.
